Serre Chevalier results from the union of three village municipalities: Chantemerle, Villeneuve la Salle and Mônetier les Bains. The extensive skiable area offers forest skiing. The location at the border between the Northern and Southern Alps brings the area both snow and sun. In the valley, the landscape of the Parc des Ecrins is stunning and greatly appreciated by hikers. Care of children is another strong point of the resort. Keep in mind, though, that access to the Lautaret mountain pass is sometimes closed.
